When Rockland County bomb squad officers investigating a red suitcase found in Veterans Park in Nanuet took X-rays of the package, they saw three cylinders inside and something that looked like tools and wires. So they cleared the area and blew it up.

Clarkstown Police Sgt. Harry Baumann said it turns out the suspicious items were a can of corn and two cans of tuna. And the tools? A can-opener and some pliers. No bomb. "More than likely, some homeless guy lost his dinner," Baumann said.
