- JEDDAH: A Saudi woman in her 60s drowned on Tuesday when she fell into the water tank at her home in the eastern Hail district of Al-Samra, the Civil Defense has announced.
It said teams from the Civil Defense were able to pull the woman out of the tank but she was already dead.
Meanwhile, Brig. Abdul Rahman Al-Hamdan of the Civil Defense’s Special Assignment unit was able to talk a young Saudi man in his 20s out of committing suicide by throwing himself out of his family’s two-story house.
He talked to the man for several hours in front of a large crowd of onlookers. The reasons for the suicide attempt are not yet known.
