“While the agent was going out from his office with the SAWA cards they hit his car from behind. As the agent was preoccupied with the accident, the thieves ran away with the cards,” said Maj. Sami Al-Shuwairekh, spokesman of Riyadh police.

Police also found that the two criminals had tried to run away with two stolen cars after threatening their owners. At that time police seized some of the stolen SAWA cards from their possession.

Investigations showed that one of the two criminals had snatched a hand bag containing 15 kg of gold valued at SR1.5 million, the spokesman said. He urged people carrying valuables to be extra cautious in order to avoid being robbed.
