Consistent from tee to green, Kim only had one pick-up for no point — on No. 8 — and laid the foundation of his runaway win by posting two net eagles for 4 points each on the 12th and 13th holes.

With a 25 handicap Kim, who carded nines of 22 and 25 points, was also awarded first place in the Third Division (handicap 19-28) in the Stableford format competition that attracted over 90 players who vied for prizes on a hot sunny day. Kim’s total is the equivalent of 11-under in medal play.

Kamran Khan and Peter Dadzis had a matching 42 points as they ruled the First Division (0-9) and Second Division (10-18), respectively.

Khan, a 7 handicap, enjoyed a tidy round for nines of 22-20 which he highlighted by making net eagle on each of the two par-5 holes (Nos. 1 and 15).

Dadzis, with an 18 handicap,  tallied 22-20, overcoming  a pick-up on the second hole with a net eagle right on the next hole. He never was zeroed the rest of his round in this competition format that awards, after handicap adjustments, 1 point for bogey, 2 for par, 3 for birdie and 4 for eagle.

Morgan Mead and Hirubami Nakajima, both with 9 handicap, took the second and third positions in the First Division on 36 and 35 points.

Lebanese Talal Sarieddine and Finlay Graham finished second and third in the Second Division via the countback after both players returned cards of 38 points.

In ideal scoring conditions all but two of the winners shot under-par rounds with K. W. Park and Gauvin Daniel, with 19 and 28 handicap, rounding out the Third Division winners on 43 and 41 the equivalent of 7- and 5-under in medal play.

To M.S. Kim went the award for longest drive and to Lars Bergstrand the plum for closest to the pin.

The division winners received an Ogio cart bag plus crystal trophy for  first place, Adams Idea rescue club for second place and Nike wedge for third place courtesy of sponsor Sinoma International Engineering Co., which operates which operates one of the largest cement manufacturing plants in the world with headquarters in Beijing. China.

The lucky winner for the top raffle draw prize of Ping G15 driver was Syed Shafiq. The other raffle draw winners were Ali Hernandez (Srixon driver), Paul Hanson (Hippo iron set), Greg Green (Titleist NXT Tour golf balls), Moiz Ahmed and Arif Hussain (Hippo shoe bag).

Cui Tong, general manager Marketing Department, headed the Sinoma executives that attended the awards ceremony. Supervisor of Foreign Affairs Hu Jingrong, Ma Wei, investment officer and Zhang Guangmao, Riyadh office director, were also present.

Tong handed out the trophies and prizes to the winners during the awarding conducted by DGCC Golf Manager Bochaib El Jadiani.

The tournament is the last for the 2009-2010 season. After a break of one and  a half months the new season opens in September with the staging of the Saudi National Day Golf Championship.
