The lawyer maintains that the Ministry of Culture and Information has not held LBC liable for airing the controversial segment that is viewed as violating social and Islamic standards even though it recognizes that the interview with his client was heavily and selectively edited.

“The court (of appeals) has accepted the objection,” he told Arab News, saying he would seek acquittal for his client.

Al-Jumaie says that the ministry should be seeking punitive measures against the channel for what he says was tampering with and distortion of his client’s words and the subsequent airing of the segment.
