- JEDDAH: Abu Mitairan knows a thing or two about grand entrances.
- The 60-year-old man arrived at his wedding in a village near the northern city of Hail on a female camel he bought for the occasion.
Abu Mitairan was first married 35 years ago, but at the time he was forced to sell the only camel he owned to meet marriage expenses.
Relatives and friends were awestruck when they saw the groom arriving on the back of a camel. They were even more surprised when Abu Mitairan revealed that he paid SR40,000 for his bride, 32, but paid SR75,000 for the camel, age unkown.
“I had fears that I might die before I realize my dream. I told my bride and her family that I would be coming to them on a camel and they agreed,” he said.
