- MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) supremo Raj Thackeray, who always roars and issues threats to his opponents in public meetings, had to eat a humble pie when on Monday night thieves stole the number plates of his two cars from his residence at Shivaji Park in Dadar.
It was only on Tuesday morning that his staff detected that the number plates of his Toyata Qualis and Toyota Camry cars were stolen. A case of theft was lodged with the Shivaji Park police station and the police have launched investigations in the case.
The Shivaji Park locality is a posh area. Krishna Kunj, the building where Raj resides with his family, is heavily guarded by armed policemen round the clock.
But Raj alone was not the target of the thieves, who also stole the number plates of 12 other cars the neighborhhod. The theft took Raj by surprise and he was reported as saying that while others fear taking him heads-on, the thieves showed that they are beyond his reach.
