Earlier 19 people affected by the disease have been put on the life saving ventilators. According to doctors the disease gets suppressed during the summer time but returns back strongly during rainy and winter time. Pune has been the epic center of this disease in India.

From the information and statistics provided by the state health authorities, it has become clear that the number of swine flu patients in Pune is on the increase.

Throat swabs taken from suspected patients of the disease are taken and sent to the National Institute of Virology(NIV) in Pune and based on their confirmation reports it is decided which patients samples sent to NIV have been tested positive for the disease.

During the last two days 7,800 people were screened for swine flu out which 43 patients tested positive. Another 1,286 patients were given Tamiflu tablets to treat the disease.

As compared to the month of June, within 20 days in month of July, there has been rapid increase in Swine flu in Pune, as per the statistics released by the State PHD.

On Tuesday 34 people were reported to have been affected by swine flu in Pune district. On Thursday 19 people were detected with the disease. On Tuesday 14 patients with swine flu and in critical condition were admitted to different hospitals in Pune. And on Thursday, the tally of those critically patients rose to 19, according to PHD officials.

During the last three months, 53 patients affected by swine flu have been dead in Pune. So far 264 swine flu patients have died alone in Pune as per the records of the PHD. Since the month of April 2,59,947 suspected swine flu patients were examined, 18, 830 were administrated Tamiflu tablets, 482 were found positive with the disease, and 264 were reported dead as per the records.
