Police sources said the fetus will be examined by a medical professional as part of the investigation. The hospital contacted Taif police for a permit to bury the fetus, saying they had forgotten about it for 10 days. Police, however, refused permission, saying they first need to know where the fetus came from and how it came to the morgue without their notification. The hospital’s manager had also tried to pressure the police station to obtain a permit. The fetus is only six-months old and there are no signs of violence on it. All evidence, according to police, suggests the hospital is involved in some sort of foul play and that an illegal abortion might have been carried out. The fetus was taken to King Faisal Hospital.
