“The thief broke into the victim’s house and stole his belongings, which included a wallet containing SR700. When the thief realized police were at the scene, he tossed the wallet to the back of the house,” said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police.

He added that the man has been taken into police custody and is currently at the police station in the Kandara district of Jeddah.

Meanwhile, police also arrested a 23-year-old expatriate in the Al-Ruwais district of Jeddah on Sunday morning for breaking into a Toyota Corolla belonging to another foreign worker. Both the suspect and the victim are of South Asian origin. “A call was received at the Sharafiya police station at 10 a.m. from the 43-year-old victim that someone had broken into his car and stolen the contents,” said Al-Juaid.

“When police came to the scene of the crime, the victim told them that he saw the 23-year-old breaking the car’s windows and stealing the contents. When officers started questioning the youth, he admitted committing the theft and was brought to the police station,” Al-Juaid added.
