The event will witness a distinctive challenge between experienced drivers and those who compete for the first time. Some 33 amateurs are among the participants, according to Abdullah Bakhashab, organizer of the championship.

The participating drivers will compete in two laps in their own cars on Wednesday. On Thursday, they will take part in two more laps in their own vehicles before competing in the final two laps driving Toyota Camry for the Kingdom's autocross champion.

The drivers will be divided into seven groups. The drivers, with their cars will be categorized into seven classes depending on the capacity and the power of engine, car size and year of manufacture. The classes will be: Super Stock (SS) for ultra high performance sport cars, A Stock (AS) for high performance sport cars, PA for sport cars and GTs, C Stock (CS) for small size compact cars, D Stock (DS) for intermediate size sedans, F Stock (FS) for sedans and coupes, (BS) for medium size coupes.

"The track designed by a group of special engineers is all the more challenging with a slew of curves and hairpin turns. The length of the circuit exceeds 1,300 meters and it is punctuated with turnings and obstacles. Special digital timing system will be used," Bakhashab added.

The event will be held under the supervision of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare. The event is mainly sponsored by Toyota. The co-sponsors are Mobil 1 and Arab motor Channel.
