- DAMMAM: The Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EPCCI) and the Saudi Institute of Retail Selling (SIRS) recently signed an agreement for SIRS to train 10,000 Saudis to work in Savola Group’s Panda retail outlets over the next three years.
The agreement was signed by Acting Secretary General of EPCCI Abdul Rahman Al-Wabil and SIRS CEO Abdul Aziz Abdul Aziz in Dammam.
The agreement provides for cooperation in various fields including attracting Saudi youths to work in the retail sector.
Abdul Aziz estimated the number of workers in the sector at 1.5 million. He stressed the importance of bringing Saudi youths to the sector. An estimated 16 percent of the Saudi retail workers are Saudis.
