Bello and his delegation will conduct hearings and  consultations with the Filipino community. Other members of the delegation will include Representatives Cresente Paez, Emmeline Aglipay and Ma. Carmen Zamora-Apsay. Bello is the chairman of the Congressional Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs (COWA), which is visiting the Kingdom for the second time.

The delegation will also visit Jeddah on Tuesday and Alkhobar on Wednesday and leave the Kingdom the following day. The groups will present their demand and grievances.

One of the groups represented is Migrante Middle East, according to John Monterona, the group's regional coordinator.

He said that Migrante will present a copy of the list of unsolved cases involving OFWs, including their petition that the Philippine government act on them.

“One of these is our campaign 'Justice for Murdered OFW Romilyn Eroy-Ibanez! Justice for All Victims',” he said. “It would be good to meet with the visiting officials to personally relay to them our demands.”

Another participating group is the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Riyadh Chapter (PSME-CRSA), which filed a complaint with the Philippine Embassy due to what it felt as a rebuff from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh (POLO-Riyadh) when they visited the Bahay Kalinga (BK) shelter in Riyadh on Dec. 23  to give donations to the wards staying there.

The group is expected to formally hand over its members' complaint to the delegation.

In a letter to the embassy, the group invoked Section 2 of Republic Act No. 6713, which says, “it is the policy of the state to promote a high standard of ethics in public service.  Public servants shall at all times be accountable to the people and shall discharge their duties with utmost responsibility, integrity, competence and loyalty, act with patriotism and justice, lead modest lives and uphold public interest over personal interest.”
