- RIYADH: The first session of the Youth Leadership Program (YLP) kicked off here on Friday under the supervision of Syed Ashfaq, YLP's coordinator, following the launching of this novel program by Kohinoor Toastmasters Club in collaboration with Al-Yasmin International School (AYIS).
- Twenty-five students of Al-Yasmin School from grade VIII to X have been selected for the YLP, which aims to boost leadership qualities and inculcate skills of communication among them.
"The program will go a long way in contributing to the overall development of the students," said AYIS principal Firoz Mulla, who exerted all out efforts to organize the session.
"Programs like the YLP has been helping students restore a sense of confidence and leadership," said M.C. Sebastian, director of Peevees Group of Schools, who is also an AYIS principal.
He congratulated the students for showing great interest and enthusiasm in the YLP session.
The event was attended by Ebrahim Sabjan, president of Kohinoor Club; Syed Zia Ur Rahman, Area 22 Governor; Abdul Khader, supervisor; and a large number of guests, students and teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashfaq shared his thoughts on the YLP program and interacted with the 25 students who took great interest to share their views and ideas with the speaker.
He said the Toastmasters International has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent from a humble beginning as a small club in 1924. This nonprofit organization has nearly 260,000 members in over 12,500 clubs in about 113 countries.
