- LONDON: West Ham co-chairman David Gold says his struggling Premier League club has signed Robbie Keane on loan from Tottenham for the rest of the season.
The Ireland captain has received limited first-team opportunities since moving back for a second spell at Spurs at the start of 2009.
Keane will move across London to join a team which is bottom of the league with almost two-thirds of the campaign gone.
Gold tells the BBC that West Ham is “delighted to sign a world-class striker.” The Hammers have also signed Senegal striker Demba Ba, defender Wayne Bridge and midfielder Gary O'Neil in the transfer window.
Tottenham said Sunday it has also loaned out midfielder Jamie O'Hara to Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.
