Razak also met Sultan Al-Jaber, CEO and managing director of Masdar, to discuss how the two nations can collaborate to innovate and commercialize renewable energy and clean technologies.

The world is waiting, as the bold Masdar initiative discovers a roadmap to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy and provide practical and scalable solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow. Abu Dhabi and Masdar are advancing global progress and tackling the critical energy challenges our world faces. Malaysia applauds these efforts,” the prime minister said after visiting the city.

Meanwhile, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Sheikha Lubna Al-Qassimi and Malaysian Minister of International Trade & Industry Mustafa Mohamed have held a meeting in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to promote Malaysian investments in the new sectors of the UAE economy.

The meeting also discussed the global economic developments, the World Trade Organization's negotiations and growth indications within global trade.

In remarks at the meeting, Sheikha Lubna reaffirmed the UAE economy is robust and that the UAE maintains its stature as a gateway between the East and the West.

Urging Malaysian businesses and investors to tap the national economy's potentials and opportunities in Islamic finance and banking, health and education, she further noted that the total two-way trade exchange between the UAE and Malaysia has increased to over $2.6 billion in the first 10 months of 2010.

The Malaysian minister said a Malaysian delegation of investors and businessmen is visiting the UAE next April to discuss new venues and cooperation between the two countries.
