- TAIF: The general court in Muwaih, a small town north of Taif, is considering a complaint raised by a Saudi citizen demanding financial compensation from a restaurant along the Riyadh-Taif Expressway for allegedly poisoning two of his camels, Arabic daily Shams reported Tuesday.
The two camels were reportedly poisoned after eating food remnants dumped by restaurant workers at a nearby courtyard. The owner of the camels told Taif police that after eating the food scraps, consisting of meat and chicken, the animals displayed symptoms of poisoning and refused to eat, eventually becoming very thin and dying. The owner did not fix a price for his two camels but said compensation could run into hundreds of thousands of riyals.
