It will be the kingdom's first. According to the club's website, an agreement will be signed in Riyadh on Monday between the Real Madrid Foundation (RMF) and the Prince Salman Foundation.

The Real Madrid Foundation is the club's social outreach arm. Through it, it develops a number of educational, welfare, sports and cultural programs.

The agreement will be signed by Prince Muhammad bin Salman and RMF President Florentino Perez, who is also the head of Spanish construction giant ACS.

RMF Vice President Enrique Sanchez and Prince Salman Foundation Director-General Abdel Aziz Al-Masoud will also join in the signing ceremony. Details of the proposed academy are expected to be revealed at the time.

In May 2009, the Real Madrid team played  an exhibition match against Al-Nassr Club in Riyadh. It was the final match for Al-Nassr's captain Maged Abdullah prior to retirement.

Six months later, Real Madrid extended its connections with the Kingdom with a sponsorship deal with Saudi Telecom. 

As part of the deal, STC was give the right to use 12 minutes of every game the team played at home for the next four seasons for promotional purposes in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Indonesia. Other features included training 70 young Saudis during the summer season as well as providing trips to attend club matches, locally or internationally, for subscribers to Real Madrid mobile.
