Hail Rally title-holder Yazeed Al-Rajhi is meeting the cost of renting 500 vehicles. “Five hundred cars are available to people who lost their cars in the (Jan. 26) flood in collaboration with car rental companies,” said Charity Warehouse Director Abdul Rahman Al-Homaid.

Meanwhile, Rashid Al-Zahrani, chairman of the Council of Technical and Vocational Training in Makkah province, commended the emergency service undertaken by volunteers in repairing damaged cars in the flood-hit districts.

“The members of the volunteer team go to flood-hit neighborhoods and look for anyone whose car was damaged in the flood. Then they look for the problem and make the necessary repairs. They come for work at seven in the morning to provide a report about their previous day’s work to the committee and then again go out with their tools,” said Saeed Al-Zahrani, chief of the field service program.

The volunteer teams repaired 283 in the five days after the flood.

He said there are other teams to undertake repairs of damaged properties, however their service is in its initial stage. They are currently reviewing applications for the most needy candidates.
