Ghassan Daghlas, the Palestinian Authority official monitoring settler activity in the northern West Bank, said that "military bulldozers, backed by more than 20 military jeeps, arrived at Khirbet Tana early Wednesday and started razing the structures."

Daghlas said that the Israeli forces demolished structures include several homes, sheep barns, agricultural installations and tore several tents the International Committee of the Red Cross donated to the villagers.

He added that "180 residents are now displaced after the demolition of their homes."

The official said that the structures were demolished under the pretext that they were built in Area “C” without building permits.

According to the Oslo Agreement, Area “A” is under Palestinian administrative and security control, Area “B” under Palestinian administrative control but under Israeli security one and the Area “C” is under full Israeli control.

However, Israel "reoccupied" the three areas after its large-scale military operation "Defensive Shield" in 2002.

The Palestinian Minister of Settlements and Separation Wall Affairs Maher Ghnaim said in response to the Israeli move that the "PA will not stop construction and reconstruction in Palestinian territories."

Ghnaim said that the PA will reconstruct what Israeli demolished in Tana and other places in the West Bank.

"We are determined to confront this Israeli attack," the minister said.
