“The homeowner and his family were on vacation since Wednesday. Upon their arrival, he discovered his wife’s jewelry had been stolen along with some of his children’s video games and electronic devices,” said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police.

Investigations were immediately conducted in the area, and fingerprints were taken from the house. When the housekeeper was questioned, it turned out that she was behind the theft.

“The housekeeper admitted to investigators that she committed the theft while the family was on vacation. She later led police to the location where she had sent the stolen items and was taken into custody at the Salamah police station prison. When investigations are completed, her file will be sent to the authorities concerned,” said Al-Juaid.

Meanwhile, two Somali nationals in their 30s were arrested in the Safah district on suspicion of breaking into a local store and stealing its air conditioner among other goods, police said.”The two suspects broke in when the store’s owner left to complete some chores. When he arrived later that night, he found his shop had been left in a tip,” said Al-Juaid

The shop owner contacted police, who conducted an intensive search for the two men and eventually found them in the area.
