“The three foreign men along with their Saudi sponsor were arrested while they took scrap metal from the site. The sponsor’s pickup was used during the theft,” said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police.

“All of the men were arrested as they tried to leave the site with the metal. They were all taken to a nearby police station for questioning and to ascertain whether they are involved in other similar crimes,” said Al-Juaid.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old Sudanese man was arrested in the south of Jeddah for stealing SR45,000 from his employer.

“The man was entrusted with the cash to deposit into the company's bank account. However, on a trip to the bank, the man pretended he had been robbed of the money,” said Al-Juaid.

The company’s owners called the police and reported the money stolen. They also expressed suspicion that the Sudanese man was behind the theft.

“The man was arrested and during questioning admitted taking the money. He is still being questioned and will be brought to court in due course,” said Al-Juaid.
