- JEDDAH: The Saudi Standards Organization (SASO) has approved new regulations to help reduce accidents at amusement parks by 70 percent, said SASO governor Nabeel Mulla.
"We have set out new regulations to meet safety and security requirements at amusement parks," Mulla said, adding that the regulations include field inspections.Speaking to reporters after presiding over a meeting of SASO’s board of directors, he said about 95 percent of GCC standards and specifications are based on Saudi standards.“SASO has approved 1,100 new standards and specifications in various fields and updated 300 others,” Mulla said. The board has agreed to join the Institute of Standards for OIC Countries in Turkey to strengthen cooperation between Muslim states in the field.
