- MUSCAT: Oman has awarded Turkish engineering firm Ozkar Insaat a road construction contract worth OR125.22 million ($325.25m), a tender board official said.
“Ozkar Insaat of Turkey won the first phase of the 40-km bid to build Sur road,” a tender board official said.
The tender for the second phase of the same road is under process, he added.
Oman plans to spend OR8.13bn ($21.12bn) in 2011, an increase of about OR696m over its 2010 budget. This week, the Gulf state awarded projects worth OR153m for boosting infrastructure.
