- MAKKAH: Police opened an investigation Friday over the circumstances that led a Saudi man in his 30s to commit suicide by hanging himself.
The Saudi man was living alone in Al-Nuzha neighborhood in an apartment in the fourth floor of a residential building. Teams from the Civil Defense and forensic specialists arrived at the scene on Friday to gather evidence. The body was cut down from the ceiling and taken to the King Faisal Hospital.
Relatives of the dead man said they were trying to contact him for two days. When he did not respond, they went to his apartment. When he did not also respond to their knocking on the door, they informed authorities, who arrived, broke the door and found the man hanged from the ceiling. According to the family, the man was suffering from psychological problems.
