“The society continues its charitable work to help flood victims with a focus on the rehabilitation of those whose houses were lost or damaged in the Jan. 26 flood. The repair work has been completed in districts such as Hindawiyah, Balad, Misfat, Khomrah, Dhahban and Thuwal with the help of the Building and Construction Committee of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” said chairman of the board of directors of the society Mazen Batterjee.

Besides thanking donors from the public for supplying required building and furnishing materials for the quick completion of the repair work, Batterjee commended Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Fasial and Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed for their encouragement and support to charitable activities.

Meanwhile, Charity Society of Skilled Workers’ Chairman  Ahmad Hashim said members of the society have been participating in repair work since the calamity ravaged Jeddah.

“Skilled technical workers, including women, have been undertaking volunteer work, such as interior decoration, electrification, sanitary fittings and repair of vehicles in the flooded neighborhoods. The workers who have been trained by the society for volunteer service helped all victims without looking for the nationalities of the victims,” he said.
