Doan was playing in his 1,098th game with the Winnipeg/Phoenix franchise, tying him with Teppo Numminen for first on the list.

Taylor Pyatt put Phoenix up 2-1 with 9:30 left in the third.

Canadiens 3 Canucks 2: At Vancouver, British Columbia, David Desharnais and Brian Gionta scored 67 seconds apart early in the first period, and Carey Price made 12 of his 37 saves in the third as Montreal won in Vancouver for the first time in over a decade.

Andrei Kostitsyn ended a 12-game goal drought, despite being demoted to the fourth line.

Mikael Samuelsson and Henrik Sedin scored power-play goals, and Roberto Luongo made 22 saves as the Canucks lost at home in regulation for the fifth time this season.

Rangers 4 Hurricanes 3, SO: At Raleigh, North Carolina, Wojtek Wolski scored the tying goal with 1:50 left in regulation and then netted the only goal in the shootout to rally the New York Rangers past Carolina.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped all three shootout attempts by Carolina, which squandered a 43-save night by Cam Ward and missed a chance to tie New York for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Lundqvist stopped 30 shots through overtime for the Rangers, who were 2-7-1 in their previous 10. He then denied Jeff Skinner, Jussi Jokinen and Sergei Samsonov in the shootout.

Jokinen scored two third-period goals to give Carolina its first lead, but Wolski tied it late.

Maple Leafs 2 Islanders 1: At Toronto, Phil Kessel’s goal with less than five minutes to play snapped a tie and gave Toronto a win over the New York Islanders.

Clarke MacArthur had the other goal for Toronto, 7-2-2 since the All-Star break.

Matt Moulson scored for the Islanders, giving him four goals in two days.

Blue Jackets 4 Predators 0: At Columbus, Ohio, Steve Mason made 20 saves for his 18th NHL shutout and Rick Nash scored two of Columbus’ four third-period goals against Nashville.

Nash, Matt Calvert and Antoine Vermette scored in a 8:38 span early in the third to help the Blue Jackets move within two points of eighth place in the Western Conference.

Fedor Tyutin and Kris Russell each added two assists for Columbus. Mason has shut out the Predators twice this season.

Sharks 4 Red Wings 3: At Detroit, Joe Thornton scored his 300th career goal and Devin Setoguchi had two as San Jose held on to beat Detroit.

Henrik Zetterberg scored a power-play goal with 1:51 left to pull the Red Wings within a goal, but they couldn’t beat Antti Niemi again to force overtime.

Ryane Clowe scored on a breakaway midway through the game and Niemi made 35 saves for the Sharks, who have won four straight and 13 of 16.

Detroit’s Danny Cleary scored game-tying goals early in the second and at 14:42 of the period.

Devils 1 Stars 0: At Dallas, Nick Palmieri scored a power-play goal with 5:37 left and Johan Hedberg stopped 19 shots for his 17th NHL shutout as New Jersey extended its season-high winning streak to eight by beating Dallas.

With newly acquired Dallas defenseman Alex Goligoski in the penalty box, Ilya Kovalchuk mis-hit a shot from the left point, but Palmieri was set up to the right of the net and he deflected the puck past Kari Lehtonen for his sixth goal.

The assist gave Kovalchuk an 11-game point streak.

Wild 4 Oilers 1: At St. Paul, Minnesota, Pierre-Marc Bouchard’s goal highlighted a three-goal, third-period outburst for Minnesota in a victory over Edmonton.

Martin Havlat, Kyle Brodziak and Jared Spurgeon also scored for Minnesota, which has beaten Edmonton 15 straight times at home.

Niklas Backstrom stopped 20 shots to improve his home record against Edmonton to 14-0, the longest current home streak by a goalie against one team. He is 17-2-1 overall against the Oilers.

Kurtis Foster scored for Edmonton, which lost for the first time in four games.

Avalanche 4 Blues 3: At St. Louis, Erik Johnson scored the go-ahead goal against St. Louis, which traded him three days earlier, and Colorado broke a 10-game losing streak.

Johnson, traded to Colorado as part of a four-player trade on Saturday, scored with 5:06 left to break a 2-2 tie.

Paul Stastny, Milan Hedjuk and David Jones also scored for Colorado. The Avalanche had been outscored 42-14 during the 0-9-1 skid.

Peter Budaj made 42 saves for his fifth straight win over St. Louis. The Avalanche earned their seventh consecutive victory against the Blues.

Bruins 3 Flames 1: At Calgary, Alberta, Milan Lucic scored two goals and Tim Thomas made 28 saves as Boston beat Calgary.

Brad Marchand had the other goal for the Bruins. Curtis Glencross had the Flames’ lone tally.

Marchand made it 2-0 for Boston at 5:55 of the third period. Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff kicked out Patrice Bergeron’s shot from the wing straight to Marchand, who put his 19th goal into the open net.
