Hatim Abdulqader, who holds the Jerusalem portfolio in Fatah movement, said that the local authorities, including the councils of Al-Ram, Anata, Al-Aizariyeh, Mikhmas, Abu Dis and Hizma "decided to boycott all US institutions and organizations emanating from them like the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)."

Abdulqader added that the "boycott decision also include the rejection of all kinds of assistance provided by those institutions to Palestinians" and suspension of "all contacts with US officials, excluding US citizens or journalists."

On Friday, the US vetoed a Palestinian-Arab draft resolution presented to the United Nations Security Council that condemns Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories. The veto has outraged the Palestinians. Hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and refugee camps in Lebanon against the veto.

According to Abdulqader, the local authorities also decided to cancel all signed agreements with the US official institutions.

He revealed that the national and Islamic Palestinian bodies are holding contacts to take a similar stance in protest against the US veto.

The US administration has been sponsoring peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. However, the Israeli-Palestinian direct peace talks were suspended on Oct. 2, one month after it was launched in Washington, after Israel refused to freeze settlement construction.

Meanwhile, the Israeli deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon announced that all new Israeli ambassadors and Foreign Ministry cadets will be forced to visit "Jewish heritage sites" in the West Bank, including the Al-Ibrahimi Mosque (Cave of Patriarchs).

Ayalon told the Israeli Ynet news that the ambassadors and cadets will receive guided tours from Jewish occupiers residing in Kiryat Arba settlement, which is located in the heart of Hebron.
