- JEDDAH: The Italian Cultural Center in Jeddah with the support of the Consulate General of Italy, held a cultural event in Jeddah, showcasing the talent of singer-songwriter and visual artist Christophe Katrib (also known as Cristobal) on Wednesday night.
About 250 guests, including Italian Consul General Simone Petroni, attended the event that was organized by the Italian Cultural Center and was followed by dinner.
This is Cristobal's first performance in Saudi Arabia, since he left the Kingdom in 1993. Cristobal was born in France in 1976 but he grew up in Jeddah and Beirut.
A self-taught musician, Cristobal started playing the guitar and writing songs and poetry in the early 90s.
Cristobal played famous covers of songs by Bob Dylan, Bjork, Portishead, Noir Desir and The Velvet Underground.
His music consists of poetic, alternative folk and indie music genres. He also sang some of his original songs.
