A senior ISI official, when contacted by Arab News, said he was not mandated to confirm or deny this report. He, however, said communications between Pakistan and the United States were not suspended.

Diplomatic sources said the two heads of intelligence organizations discussed bilateral relations particularly in the wake of termination of cooperation between ISI and CIA following the Raymond Davis ‘incident.’

The official confirmed that Pakistan has serious concerns about CIA’s covert operations in Pakistan. He said, "we have conveyed to CIA to carry out such operations which are in our knowledge. This should be the spirit of intelligence-sharing between two agencies."

Sources said the ISI chief emphasized on Pakistan’s security and sovereignty during the conversation, adding that the CIA will now be providing the ISI with records and data on all such operatives.

The CIA will also explain the procedures pertaining to the operatives’ activities, sources said.
