- BRASILIA, Brazil: An international narcotics watchdog group says it’s worried about increased drug trafficking in Mexico and Central America and Bolivia’s lack of action to curb cocaine production.
The International Narcotics Control Board also says that Brazil is increasingly becoming a transit point for South American cocaine headed for West Africa.The warnings are included in the board’s annual global report on drugs, released Wednesday.The report says that 90 percent of cocaine that enters the US flows through Mexico.But it also states that Mexican cartels receive most of their money from marijuana sales: $8.5 billion annually, or 61 percent of their annual income.
