The conference sessions, workshops and exhibitions will be held at the Madinah Hotel Meridien, while the main symposium and evening lectures will be at the university's grand lecture hall.

Taibah Rector Mansour bin Muhammad Al-Nuzha said the conference aims to achieve a number of objectives, including the promotion of moderation as a scientific and practical tool among the Arab youth, the explanation of correct Islamic beliefs, thought and conduct, the suggestion of practical programs to promote moderation among youths, addressing the causes driving Arab youths away from moderation and the inculcation of this ideology among university students.

He said the conference will hold 11 sessions to consider 59 research papers and studies focusing on boosting the concept of moderation, promoting its values in syllabuses, encouraging moderate student activities and cooperation among Arab universities to promote the tolerant values of Islam.

Al-Nuzha said on the sidelines of the conference, a symposium on “Moderation of Islam and its Impact on Thought and Conduct” will be held under the chairmanship of Saleh Bin-Humaid, president of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayeb, Grand Mufti of Lebanon Muhammad Rasheed Qabbani and former Mauritanian Justice Minister Abdullah Bayyah will participate in the symposium.

The rector said conference activities will also include a lecture on moderation in Islam, to be delivered by Imam of the Grand Mosque Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais.
