Halle Berry won best actress for "Frankie and amp; Alice" - and was surprised to have Prince hand her the award - while the movie itself won for outstanding independent picture. On the music side, winners included Usher, Alicia Keys and Fantasia.

Presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Image Awards honor diversity in the arts and outstanding achievements in film, television, music and literature.
