Sources told Arab News that, "Marc Grossman will hold first unscheduled meeting with Finance Minister Hafiz Shaikh and discuss provisions of Coalition Support Fund to Pakistan.

Officials said Grossman will also meet senior officials, civil society representatives and local media.

"In his meeting, Ambassador Grossman will emphasize the US commitment to long-term, enduring partnerships with both Afghanistan and Pakistan," the government statement said.

It said, "He will pursue 'the ongoing dialogues' started by Richard Holbrooke."

Grossman will hold a separate  meeting with  army chief Gen. Pervez Asfaque  Kayani in Rawalpindi.
