Ahli was first to score in the 55th minute when Omani striker Emad Al-Hosani soloed home for a goal.

Hilal leveled the game courtesy of  Wilhelmsson who scored from inside the penalty box in the 58th minute.

The result of the match only benefitted Ittihad, which  has been hoping for Hilal to drop points. Despite the result, Hilal remains on top of the Saudi league with 45 points. Ahli kept the seventh position in the team standings with 24 points. 

In other matches, Al-Shabab and Al-Fateh drew 0-0 as did Al-Nasr and  Al-Qadisia 0-0.

Nasr is fourth on 33 points, Qadisia 12th  18 points, Shabab fifth 33 points and Al-Fateh 11th 19 points.
