The diplomat’s sons had filed a complaint 20 months ago that their sister and brother in law had stolen over SR2 million from their father’s home and then disappeared.

The couple were arrested this week in Jeddah and brought to Makkah for questioning. A police source said the problem began after the diplomat’s death when his children began quarreling over his estate.

The daughter is thought to have taken her share of inheritance and disappeared. She is alleged to have taken an expensive watch and jewelry worth over SR2 million and stashed them at a friend’s home in Jeddah. Police are still investigating the matter.
