- JEDDAH: A retired public sector worker has been denied pension benefits because he is accused of working in two government offices simultaneously, even though the two offices are more than 1,000 km apart.
- A local daily reported that Hasan Al-Amri joined a government office in Riyadh 30 years ago and left it shortly afterward.
However, the Pension Department informed him that he would not be eligible for pension until he returned all the salary he allegedly received from his old office over the past 30 years. Al-Amri says he never received anything from the old office as he had never gone there or had any contact after he left all those decades ago. The question is, who received the salary instead?
