Interior Ministry officials said, “We had previously sent 16 questions to former president at his London address but the FIA never received any reply. This time we have sent arrest warrant against him to Pakistan High Commission to London.”

Officials said the high commission will contact British authorities for Musharraf’s custody.

On Saturday, a nonbailable warrant against Musharraf was issued. The court issued the warrant for the third time after police had requested the court for an extension to execute the order.

Police requested the court for more time to implement its order but the judge gave only two weeks, Malik Mohammad Rafique, one of the defense lawyers stated.

Musharraf, living in London, has been declared an offender by the same court twice. He is thought to be a key witness and an enabler of the plot to kill Benazir.

The FIA, meanwhile, has submitted a request to Interpol for securing the extradition of Musharraf from the UK.
