The Cabinet expressed its concern over the worsening security situation in some Arab and Islamic countries and emphasized the need to deal with such developments with patience and wisdom, ensuring the security and stability of people in those countries.

The Cabinet commended a statement issued by the Council of Senior Islamic Scholars regarding disturbances in various parts of the world. The clerics emphasized the importance of strengthening unity and cohesion among citizens and warned against division.

The ulema council, headed by Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, forbade demonstrations and protest marches, saying they would provoke strife and division. It underscored the strong relationship between the Saudi leadership and people.

The Cabinet increased agricultural subsidy from 25 to 70 percent for projects using modern irrigation and greenhouse facilities. It also endorsed a GCC summit resolution, allowing GCC citizens to own real estate properties in the member countries for residential and investment purposes.

The Cabinet expressed its satisfaction over the outcome of a recent meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council in Riyadh, which saw the signing of a number of agreements to expand cooperation between the two GCC neighbors.

The Saudi Cabinet commended Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah for his successful efforts in reconciling the United Arab Emirates and Oman and thanked Sultan Qaboos and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan for their cooperation.

The Cabinet denounced continuing Israeli atrocities in the occupied Palestinian territories and its efforts to destroy historical monuments in Jerusalem. “This is a flagrant violation of Palestinian human rights,” the Cabinet statement said.

The meeting decided to endorse the signing of an agreement with Syria for cooperation in social care and development. Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja has been assigned to sign another accord between the Saudi Press Agency and Qatar News Agency.

The Cabinet appointed Mansour bin Ibrahim Al-Mansour as ambassador, Abdul Elah bin Hassan Al-Asheikh as minister plenipotentiary at the Foreign Ministry, Haya bint Abdul Aziz Al-Awad as undersecretary for girls’ education affairs at the Education Ministry, Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Hawass as administrative consultant and Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Shaqha as assistant secretary-general of the preparatory committee at the Supreme Council for Petroleum and Minerals.
