Businessmen in Makkah and its surrounding towns will announce their job openings at the four-day event, which is to be held for the benefit of local youth. Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will also attend the inaugural function.

The SCTA will offer 1,500 new opportunities at the event, which the organizers say will showcase some 4,100 jobs in total.

“The employment forum will enable young men and women of Makkah to familiarize themselves with the jobs offered by various companies,” MCCI’s Vice President Ziyad Farsi said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Friday.

The youths will also have the chance to find instant employment. The MCCI’s Committee for Training, Qualification and Saudization has organized the event after estimating the precise number of youths searching for jobs in Makkah with the help of the Human Resources Fund, Farsi said.

The Makkah municipality has provided a 4,000-square meter venue for the fair close to a car park on the Jeddah-Makkah Expressway.

Participants will have to register their names when they enter the ground to receive registration cards. Job applicants will then be directed to companies that match their qualifications. Officials from various companies will explain to the candidates the nature of available jobs.

“The forum will also organize workshops and training programs on the significance of work ethics. Human resources staff will also be given training on how to choose the right kind of workers for their establishments,” said Khaled Al-Hasnawi, chairman of the event’s organizing committee.

Participating establishments include Vermont Hotel Group with 500 opportunities, the Shams Tourism Group with 400 jobs, Al-Faqih Group with 200 jobs, and the MCCI’s handicrafts section with 300 jobs for women and its Center for Training and Self-Development with another 300 jobs.
