- JEDDAH: All Saudis in Japan are safe and have not been affected by the earthquake, said Saudi Ambassador to Japan Abdulaziz A.

“Everyone is safe and no one has suffered any injuries related to Friday’s earthquake. The earthquake which struck roughly late afternoon affected mainly north eastern Japan. Eight students near the north have contacted the embassy and all are fine,” said Turkistani. There are around 400 Saudi citizens in Japan; this number includes Saudi Aramco employees and Saudi students, many of whom live with their families. However, none reportedly live close to the area where the earthquake hit.
“The embassy is ready to deal with any circumstance under the guidance of Prince Saud Al-Faisal, minister of foreign affairs; we are in direct contact with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Prince Khalid bin Saud,” said Turkistani.
