- JEDDAH: Police in Hail said on Wednesday a 30-year-old man originally believed to have died when he fell on a knife while fooling around was actually murdered by his younger brother.
According to previous police reports, the victim's 80-year-old father brought him to the police station when he was stabbed.
The father claimed that his older son got injured when he fell on a knife while playing with his younger brother, who was 19.
Police added the victim died on his way to hospital.
"Police later found contradictions in the father’s statements. When they confronted the younger brother, he admitted that he was actually fighting with his older brother and stabbed him to death," said police spokesman Lt. Col. Abdul Aziz Al-Zinaidi.
The spokesman said the youth would be taken to court to authenticate his confession and then the case would be forwarded to the Prosecution and Investigation Commission.
