“We are grateful indeed to Crown Prince Sultan for his interest in the event, which shows the support extended by the Saudi leadership to technical and vocational training,” said Al-Amr.

He added that the conference would serve as a forum for local and foreign experts to learn from each other's experience on technical and vocational training.

“The Kingdom will not only have the opportunity to showcase its own technical and vocational training but also benefit from the experience of foreign participants,” he said.

“With the conference, it is hoped that technical and vocational training will be enhanced further to produce students who will positively contribute to the Kingdom's development in various sectors,” he said.

He added that 27 highly trained foreign experts will present their position papers based on their experience of many years teaching technical and vocational courses in their respective countries.

“The foreign experts have varied interests and experiences that undeniably enhance their knowledge and skills as technical and vocational trainers,” he said, adding that “this is one reason why we're upbeat about the forthcoming conference.”

He said that they will talk on quality assurance of technical and vocational education and training programs, employability skills in technical education and vocational training, bridging the gap between training institutions and labor market needs, a tool for success in vocational guidance, challenges and prospects of staff training, and effective equipment procurement strategies for vocational education and training institutions.
