- KINGSTON, Jamaica: Police in Jamaica say the goal on a schoolyard soccer field fell over and hit a 9-year-old boy on the head.
- He later died at a hospital.
A police statement says Jeremiah Yson was playing with other children during lunch break Thursday when the heavy frame toppled.
Police have not said how or why it fell, but the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper reports that wind blew it over.
The Education Ministry ordered counseling Friday for students at Sts. Peter and Paul Preparatory School in the Jamaican capital of Kingston.
In January, a falling soccer goal killed a 7-year-old boy in Westmoreland parish.
The Gleaner says in that case, students were lifting the structure when it fell.
