- BURAIDAH: A Saudi man has finally been reunited with his car in Buraidah after it was stolen 11 years ago.
He received a telephone call from local police who told Muhammad N. the vehicle, which he reported stolen in 2000, had been found, local Arabic daily Shams reported Thursday. The citizen said he had lost hope of ever finding his car. He said when he reported the theft, he was hoping that his car would be returned to him quickly but he gave up after he and his friends and relatives searched for it for almost a year. Muhammad said police informed him that even though the thief had changed the car plates, officers identified the vehicle through its chassis number. He added that for years the car has been impounded without police checking the number on the chassis. He said he would take necessary legal action to preserve his rights.
