- JEDDAH: The Saudi Association of Producers and Distributors has presented the names of 19 artists from the Gulf region who badmouthed the Kingdom after it sent forces to Bahrain to quell disruptions there.
According to local daily Okaz, the list contained the following names: Khadija Al-Hammadi, Muhamamd Al-Qaffas, Ali Al-Ali, Hussain Al-Hilaibi, Ahmad Al-Fardan, Haifa Hussain, Yasser Saif, Munir Saif, Hamid Saif, Hassan Mansour, Yasser Al-Qurmuzi, Amirah Dasmal, Hadeel Kamaluddin, Ali Juma, Ali Mohsen, Ali kakloouli, Ahmad Leraj, Khaled Al-Braik and Hussain Al-Mahdi.
The association called for blocking these artists from performing in the Kingdom, saying they exploited art to fan sectarian unrest, which is contrary to the spirit of art.
Chairman of the association, Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, asked the Ministry of Culture and Information to take a strong stand against these artists, including not allowing their work to be shown in Saudi media.
