A local daily reported Friday that a Saudi man in Taif facing financial problems learned he would be eligible for a loan from Saudi Credit Bank if he had one more child. So he approached his wife with the proposal that they hurry up and have another child. She declined, which led the man to send her back to her family. Despite efforts by the in-laws to return the woman, the man stood firm. The wife was equally adamant, calling her husband’s demands despotic.
