- JEDDAH: The National Guard, which is organizing the annual Janadriyah National Heritage and Culture Festival, has introduced a smart band system for the protection of its child visitors.
- The system will help track down missing children quickly.
"The bangle will carry the name of the child and his father’s cell phone number. This will help us to locate stranded children in the Janadriyah village quickly," a National Guard official said.
"This system gives parents peace of mind," said Khaled Al-Atique, assistant head of information.
He said only a small number of children went missing on the first family day.
"These plastic bands are put on the children's wrists at the gate of Janadriyah village," he said.
The National Guard has appointed 70 officers of different ranks from King Khaled Military Academy to take care of visitors and distribute booklets and maps.
“We also appointed a person to accompany visiting delegations to guide them and explain the exhibits to them,” he said.
The number of people who have visited Janadriyah festival as of Thursday reached more than 1.3 million.
