- JEDDAH: Residents of Al-Samir and Um Al-Khair districts in the eastern reaches of Jeddah can begin collecting compensation for houses that were damaged in the January floods.
The Baladiyah office will be open for disbursing the compensation from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. for two weeks from Monday.
Individuals eligible for the compensation must present their IDs, including photocopies, the deed to the property and, if necessary, a legal representative of the actual owner of the land the homes are built upon.
The municipality estimated 29 homes were damaged in Um Al-Khair and 127 homes were damaged in Al-Samir district.
Following the rain disaster, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ordered all owners of properties damaged as a result of the floods should be financially compensated. A committee from the municipality evaluated the damaged properties and decided the amount of compensation.
