The unexplained deaths of young children. Dr. Jason Johnson, a radiology resident at a hospital in Burlington, developed a project to do a CT scan on the mummy. It's helping doctors refine techniques that are used to scan the bodies of all deceased infants - about one a month in Vermont.

Doctors in the Vermont medical examiner's office and prosecutors use the scans to find sometimes subtle evidence of abuse and create three-dimensional models that are useful in court. And the doctors and anthropologists at the University of Vermont, where the mummy was in a museum, have uncovered more details about the mummy. It's believed to have been a 14-year-old servant girl.
